JAR ON WOOD

Just as the name implies, this craft is a mason jar painted and distressed then attached to a piece of pallet board.

The first thing I did ( or shall I say my husband Bill did) was get a pallet and take it apart, then cut 10" pieces.
I then sanded, stained, and sealed them with a waterbase sealant.
Drill holes in the top with  my drill press.
I also drilled 2 holes about 5 inches from the bottom for the wire to go through.
For the jar I picked out a color of chalk paint  I wanted to use and painted the jar with 3 coats, letting the jar dry completely between coats

When the jar is dry take a piece of sand paper and distress it to your liking.

Okay the two pieces are ready to be married together.
You will need a piece of wire maybe about 12 inches long. Wrap the wire around the jar and criss cross wires at back and put through 2 holes drilled earlier.

This is the hardest part, take a pair of needle nose pliers and twist the two pieces of wire together until good and tight.

And there you have it!

You can either put some fake flowers in it or real flowers, it's up to you.

I had a lot of fun making these, as you can see I kind of went over board. I see gifts for a lot of people
